LYREC held its 88th annual meeting at the Richland County Event Center on June 5th. Jerry and Judy Foss catered a savoury pulled pork meal. 

The meeting commenced with Jim Vitt honoring veterans and leading the pledge of allegiance. Attorney Jean Faure, announced there were 405 members present.  

CEO Jason Brothen stressed the importance of LYREC's mission statement, highlighting its commitment to safety, reliability, and affordability. He recognised several individuals for their long-term service. Jason also mentioned the integration of Goldenwest Electric Cooperative into the shared services in November 2023. He also thanked the membership for their contributions to the Operation Round Up program. 

Jim Vitt was re-elected for District 1 director and Colin Gartner for District 2 director.  

Member Service Manager Jami Propp announced the 12 scholarship recipients that were selected for the annual meeting scholarships. 

Guests were treated to a performance of Nashville recording artist Jessie Veeder, who captivated the audience with her guitar strumming and soulful voice, blending country and fold melodies. Between songs, Jessie shared comical stories of ranch life, North Dakota's beauty, and the personal moments that inspired her music.  

Mark Lambrecht from Montana Electric Cooperative Association gave the membership an update on legislative issues and encouraged the membership to sign up as part of the grassroots team.
